Webinar: The Latino Wealth Gap: Causes, Consequences, and Policy Paths Forward

Latinos are a driving force in the U.S. economy. They account for nearly one-fifth of the population, drive workforce growth, anchor essential industries, and contribute more than $4.1 trillion annually to the U.S. GDP, an economy larger than that of most countries in the world.

Webinar: The Latino Wealth Gap: Causes, Consequences, and Policy Paths Forward

The UCLA Latino Policy & Politics Institute and UnidosUS will host a webinar discussion on the causes, consequences, and policy path forward to closing the Latino wealth gap.

Monday, April 14, 2026

2:00 PM ET | 11:00 AM PT

Virtual via Zoom

Latino households hold approximately 22 cents for every dollar of wealth held by white households, a gap that has persisted through decades of economic growth and expanding Latino entrepreneurship. Our new joint report examines why, tracing how cumulative policy decisions across housing, labor, education, and financial markets have structured access to wealth-building opportunities and reproduced disparities across generations.

The webinar will be held on the publication day of the report. The program will first highlight the report’s findings and then convene a moderated discussion about the recurring patterns behind the gap and what structural changes are needed today to disrupt them.
