Lian Pham (she/her) is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of California, Los Angeles majoring in Public Health with a minor in Global Health. She is currently an Undergraduate Research Scholar in the UCLA Sustainable LA Grand Challenge, where she explores urban sustainability challenges and interdisciplinary approaches to addressing complex issues. Through this program, she has also been involved in research with the UCLA Latino Policy & Politics Institute under the mentorship of Dr. Arturo Bustamante.

At UCLA, Lian has been actively involved in a range of health and wellness initiatives. She serves as the DiverSWC Internal Director for the Student Wellness Commission under the Undergraduate Students Association Council and is a Student Relations staff member in the External Vice President’s Office. She has also contributed as a member of the Campus Retention Committee and has held roles as a treasurer intern for Public Health Initiative: Leaders of Tomorrow, Asian Pacific Health Corps, and the Southeast Asian Center for Education and Retention. Across these roles, she has helped coordinate wellness events reaching over 1,000 students, aiming to increase engagement with wellness practices and awareness of campus resources.

Outside of UCLA, Lian serves as the Head of Outreach for Nunchi Health, an immigrant-led mental health nonprofit. In this role, she coordinates mental health conferences and oversees chapter development, including the organization’s UCLA chapter.

Lian is a Vietnamese American from Fountain Valley and the daughter of immigrant parents from Vietnam. Her lived experiences navigating immigrant family challenges have shaped her commitment to public health and her interest in improving the accessibility and equity of the U.S. healthcare system. After graduation, she plans to pursue a Master of Public Health and continue working with marginalized and underserved communities. She hopes to build an interdisciplinary understanding of public health through continued engagement with diverse populations.
