Yina Marin
YINA MARIN (she/her/hers) is a sophomore double majoring in Public Affairs along with Statistics and Data Science. As an incoming Policy Fellow within the UCLA LPPI Research Department, she is passionate about exploring research fields and crafting educational materials for advocacy work with a focus on preventing tobacco use among youth in communities of color.
At UCLA, Yina is an active member of the Air Force ROTC program, serves as the Outreach Representative for the campus Residential Council, and has participated as a coxswain for the UCLA Women’s D1 Rowing Team. Over the summer, she dedicated her time as a New Student Advisor, where she welcomed and academically advised new freshmen and transfer students to UCLA.
Born and raised in Cali, Colombia, Yina immigrated to the United States with her mother in 2015. She is a proud first-generation student.
