UCLA Latino Policy and Politics Institute is committed to shaping a new narrative so that Latinos are meaningfully considered in all policymaking conversations.
The grant will be instrumental in establishing a new research program at UCLA LPPI focusing on empirical study, community-based inquiry, and policy analysis. This initiative is designed to produce actionable data to examine two crucial, intersecting systemic barriers that contribute to inequality and exclusion in Latino communities: climate change and health inequities.

A new data brief presents current information on the educational attainment of Latinas, focusing on those with a bachelor’s degree or higher, in the United States. The data brief, titled “Facts about Latina Educational Attainment in the United States,” uses data from the Latino Data Hub, which draws from the 2021 pooled 5-year American Community Survey (ACS).
Históricamente los latinos en California han tenido acceso desigual a los títulos de licenciatura comparados con las poblaciones no latinas del estado. Un nuevo estudio del Instituto Latino de Política Pública de UCLA (UCLA LPPI por sus siglas en inglés) examinó la matriculación, el éxito académico, las experiencias en el mercado laboral, y los índices de solicitud de financiamiento de los latinos en el Programa de Títulos de Licenciatura de los Colegios Comunitarios de California (CCB por sus siglas en inglés).
