Latino Data Hub Expands Analytical Capabilities with 2026 Annual Update
Annual release expands analytical capabilities and reinforces commitment to transparent, reliable data ahead of the 2026 midterm elections

LOS ANGELES (July 15, 2026) – The UCLA Latino Policy and Politics Institute (LPPI) has released its 2026 annual update to the Latino Data Hub (LDH), expanding the platform with the latest federal data, new comparison capabilities, and user experience improvements that help researchers, policymakers, journalists, advocates, and community leaders better understand Latino communities across the United States.

The updates reflect LPPI’s ongoing commitment to providing timely, accessible, and reliable data that informs research, policy, and community action. Through these updates, LPPI uses the latest available federal data and user feedback to ensure the LDH evolves alongside the communities it serves.

The 2026 update includes the following enhancements:

  • Updated Data Across the Latino Data Hub: The platform now reflects the latest available 2024 American Community Survey (ACS) five-year Public Use Microdata Sample (PUMS), refreshing more than 130 indicators across demographics, education, economic well-being, housing, health insurance, and other key measures.
  • New Latino vs. Non-Latino Comparison Option: Users can now directly compare Latino outcomes with all Non-Latino residents across the U.S., state, and county sections of the Hub. This new feature expands the platform’s analytical capabilities and complements existing comparison options by major racial and ethnic groups, Latino origin groups, and racial groups within the Latino population.
  • Transparent Approach to Congressional Redistricting: In response to congressional boundary changes ahead of the 2026 elections, the LDH has temporarily disabled data for districts that have been substantially redrawn. The platform now includes clearer notices and documentation identifying which district boundaries are represented, ensuring users have access to reliable, transparent data while new district-level estimates are developed.
  • Improved User Experience: The update includes updated tutorial videos, an enhanced “How To” page, and clearer navigation, labels, filter descriptions, and information buttons throughout the platform.

“Reliable data depends on transparent methods,” said Rodrigo Dominguez-Villegas, director of research at LPPI and director of the LDH. “As the policy landscape continues to evolve, we remain committed to providing accurate, trustworthy data that communities can rely on. By keeping the Latino Data Hub current and transparent, we’re helping ensure advocates, community partners, and decision-makers have the information they need to better understand and serve Latino communities.”

Alongside the annual update, LPPI is also releasing a new Latino Data Hub impact video that highlights how advocates, journalists, and community leaders are using the platform to advance outcomes for Latino communities across the United States.

Ahead of the 2026 midterm elections in November, users can also explore the Latino Data Hub’s existing 2024 Latino Voter Profiles, which provide detailed demographic and socioeconomic snapshots of Latino eligible voters across the country. These profiles offer valuable context for understanding the size, diversity, and characteristics of the Latino electorate in key states, including Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Georgia and Pennsylvania. The updated Latino Data Hub also lays the foundation for LPPI’s upcoming Latino voter profile research, which will expand to include Texas, North Carolina, and Washington in the coming months.
